Trading Cashback Platform / 2026

TetherMax

A cashback platform that gives traders back part of the fees they pay on exchanges, DEXs and brokers.

Scope
Cashback Hub for centralised exchanges, DEXs and brokers · DEX cashback: linking, ownership checks, balance and claim flows

Product Designer. Product UI, design system, design QA, motion and 3D across Web, Mobile and App. This case study covers the August to November 2026 work.

Overview

TetherMax gives traders back part of the trading fees they pay. A trader links an exchange account or a wallet, trades as usual and claims the cashback on TetherMax.

Three products with different payout rules, four languages and two themes had to read as one product. Adding DEXs meant wallets, weekly settlement and new failure cases.

August: launch work and QA

Event banners, store screenshots, OG images and a partner lockup swapped across 171 placements. Wrote the design QA approach and audited the type ramp.

September: exchange detail

A shorter, clearer top area for each exchange, tested in a coded prototype across nine surfaces with theme and language switches.

September: growth features

Sign-up guide, account integration modal with nine UID cases, payback timeline, coupons and a Toast component for the library.

October: brand and 3D

Logo guidelines, a 3D material system, a 4K icon set and seamless 3D hero loops for the landing pages.

October to November: Cashback Hub, DEX and main page

One hub for exchanges, DEXs and brokers, DEX linking and claim flows, and a signed-in main page, on Web, Mobile and App.

Design choices

Measure the live product first, then design every state, platform and theme from the existing component library.

Work sits on TM MUI: shared tokens, Light and Dark variable modes and reusable screen templates. Live components such as the slide puzzle and email verification are reused, not redrawn.

  • One card works as the calculator before linking and as the balance after it.
  • Every route claims on TetherMax with the same flow and a 10 USDT minimum.
  • Never show zero when data fails: show the last known amount or an error with Try again.
  • Show what each partner pays: one compare table across every exchange, DEX and broker.

Results

  • Delivered the DEX cashback and Cashback Hub design for Web, Mobile and App in Light and Dark, including 42 DEX linking, 50 home linking and 68 claim screens in one handoff.
  • Measured 384 text nodes on one page and found one type rule broken 144 times; the first fix step cleared 89% of the defects.
  • Cut the exchange detail top area from 436 to 289 pixels and tested it in a coded prototype with 26 states in English and Korean.
  • Raised Dark mode contrast on key figures from about 2.2:1 to over 9:1.
  • Cleaned 127 components and bound about 410 colours to the design system variables.
  • Produced nine 4K 3D icons and an eight-second seamless 3D hero loop.

Figures are owner-stated, from design files, Jira and weekly reports. Several features are designed and handed over but not yet live. Numbers in the screens are sample data, not business results. Roles and contributions are owner statements; team work is not attributed solely to Adri.

Read the process

Product design · August to November 2026

  1. Measure the live product

Audit type, contrast and components on staging before changing anything.

  2. Ship the live work

Keep campaigns, banners and store assets moving while the bigger features are designed.

  3. Prototype in code

Test layout and states in a coded prototype with theme and language switches.

  4. Map every state

Draw each flow across user state, platform, language and theme, including errors and delays.

  5. Systemise and hand over

Clean components, bind colours to variables and hand over with flow maps and notes.

Tools Used

Design

  • Figma
  • FigJam

Built on the TM MUI component library with Light and Dark variable modes.

Prototyping and QA

  • Claude Code
  • Codex
  • Vercel

Coded prototypes and screenshot harnesses for design QA. Not the production codebase.

3D and motion

Owner-attested design workflow tools; this does not establish a shipped runtime dependency.

Workflow

Tickets, PRDs and weekly reports.
