the goal

business goals

The goal was to strengthen player retention and monetization by introducing a scalable battle pass framework that rewards engagement through tiered progression and premium upgrades. The system also aimed to enhance brand loyalty and support future seasonal content through a cohesive, visually consistent design language.

user goals

Players needed a clear, motivating, and rewarding experience, one that makes tracking progress, claiming rewards, and upgrading paths intuitive while reinforcing a sense of growth, mastery, and exclusivity.

project goals

The project focused on building a modular and reusable battle pass UI/UX system that delivers immersive visuals, intuitive navigation, and emotional engagement through storytelling and motion. It also ensured flexibility for future themes while maintaining strong readability, consistency, and reward clarity.

design thinking

The design process began with defining user priorities, ensuring progression clarity, emotional engagement, and thematic immersion. I analyzed top-performing battle pass systems and distilled their best interaction patterns into a structure suited for the Warden’s Ascent universe.

Wireframes were built around hierarchy and flow, emphasizing visibility of level, timer, and progression while maintaining clean calls to action. From there, high-fidelity prototypes brought the vision to life with modular layouts, animated key visuals, and thematic environments that reinforce storytelling and reward value.
Each decision aimed to balance usability with narrative depth, crafting a system that’s both intuitive to navigate and emotionally engaging to return to.
